Q.Peach Tree Resprouting

Zone 47348 | Anonymous added on May 28, 2021 | Answered

Our newly planted peach tree (3rd year) was denuded of bark by a deer last fall. It has re-sprouted from below what looks to be a graft. Will it be a productive peach tree or another species?

No, we don't advise growing the suckers from the rootstock. It would prove inferior if it produces at all.
