Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy white peach tree blooms in two phases almost a month apart. Is this due to the possibility that half the tree growing might be below a graft? Should I remove the late wood? It flowers and sets fruit, but the fruit does not mature.

Check for a grafting collar. It will be a healed wound that goes all the way around the trunk. If the inferior fruiting branch is below that collar, it is a sucker and should be removed. If it is not below that, it might still be a good idea to remove it. If it does not produce quality fruit, then it is only sucking energy away from branches that do and is not helping the tree.
