Patio Meyer Lemon Trees

Question

I live here in the Seattle area and many times see citrus plants, bushes, trees being sold as “they grow everyplace in the U.S.” I have lived in the Seattle area for many years and have never seen a producing citrus other than from Monrovia Co. at nursery.

Seriously, the number of days of sunshine here can be limited. Does anyone in “Western Washington” grow citrus? I do know of people in Spokane and Eastern Washington grow lemon trees.

You are correct, the Meyer Lemon Trees need a good amount of sunlight--12 hours is necessary for a healthy and fruit bearing plant.

It is common practice for plants to be sold that aren't necessarily zoned correctly.
I always recommend reading the tags and even some research before investing in plants and trees.
Shopping at local smaller greenhouses and garden centers are generally more reliable then large big box stores that have garden center departments.
