Passion Flower Pruning

I bought a passion flower vine this summer. It was 10″ tall. I planted it outside in the ground on a trellis and it gets 3-4 hours of direct noon sun. Well, it flurished even in our hot Oklahoma summer on record that reached 110-112 degrees with no rain. It is now 10′ tall and covered with blooms. I want this to come back next year. Our winters can be as brutal as our summers. This fall I plan to heavily mulch around the base. Everything I read does not mention whether or not I shold prune the vine. Do I cut it back once it goes dormant or just let it go?

While these plants will normally die down for winter dormancy, thus, not requiring too much pruning, since yours is quite large, cutting it back by about a third (or even half if not more) might make it easier.
