In order to get more blooms than foliage, you’ll want a fertilizer with lower nitrogen and higher phosphorus, like Bloom Plus. Bone meal is also high in phosphorus. Begin fertilizing in spring and continue feeding about once a month throughout the growing season. Cut back on fertilizer in fall and completely in winter.
