Q.parlor palm indoors

Zone lehi, utah 84043 | Anonymous added on October 10, 2018 | Answered

my parlor palm is about 35 years old and has been somewhat neglected. it has lost so many of its fronds that it now looks top heavy and sparse. is there anything I can do to make it look better? can it be replanted deeper to take up the empty space on the trunk? please help I’m thinking of throwing it out and I don’t do that often. I really love my plants so I try to do everything possible to restart them or what ever it takes. this happens to be one of the few house plants I don’t know much about. thank you for your help

You shouldn't have to re-pot the plant, as these tend to have fragile root systems. They are prone to breaking off. You may clean up any dead growth, or branches that rub up against each other. I wouldn't make too many cuts though. It is a slow grower, and even longer to recover.

Here is an article on the care of it: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/parlor-palm/parlor-palm-houseplants.htm
