pampas grass

I planted one plant 2 years ago and my thought was to grow approx. 4/5 ft tall. It grew more than 8 ft. tall; I trimmed to approx. 3 ft. tall. I don’t want to do that again. Can you trim while growing or will it disturb the normal flowering growth?

You can trim your pampas grass at any time and it won’t hurt the plant- any grass can be cut down by about 1/3 of its height at any time during its growing season. However, it won’t flower if you cut it before flowering. You’ll have to choose which is more important to you- the flower plumes or having a more manageable height.
