Do palms prefer full time sun or do some varieties prefer shade specifically Sago Palms

Sago palms do well in either partial shade or full sun. In very sunny areas with bright sunlight, sagos may do better with a bit of shade. However, they won't do well in deep shade. (Sago "palms" are not true palms, despite their name- they are actually members of the Cycadaceae or Cycad family, and are more related to conifers.)

Most true palms prefer full sun, but the Kentia palm, the curly palm (Howea belmoreana), and Chamaedorea palm species actually prefer partial shade.
