Q.Palm Tree Roots Issues

Hi, I am concerned about 2 palm trees on my property. The first, I think, needs to be chopped down as there is a large hole and hollow trunk at the base of the tree. I am assuming this is irreparable? The second palm tree has visible roots showing above the ground. Is this normal? I do not want this tree to suffer the same fate as the other tree. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I do not want to lose both of them! If there is anything I should be doing to ensure they remain healthy please, let me know! Thanks in advance!

The first does appear to be in need of removal, unfortunately.

The second will benefit from a top dressing of soil and compost, mixed. Here are some articles that will help you:
