Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a 4 X 8 foot raised bed full of carrots. The bed is two feet high off the ground. Can I overwinter my carrots by just heavy mulching on the top of the bed or do I need to insulate the perimeter of the bed to keep the proper temperature necessary for winter storage? My garden zone is 6. The bed is constructed of 12″ x 6″ laminated farm beams with no botttoms to the bed.

Here is a link with information on wintering over.
I have had friends who even laid a sheet of plywood over the top of the raised bed to help insulate the bed. Then the board is listed to harvest the carrots.
