Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI will be moving to Indiana from Wisconsin and would like to bring some of my Hostas and lily of the valley with me. I will not be able to plant them until spring. Can they be kept in containers and stored through the winter? If so, how?
Thank you,
Dorothy Hoogstra

I would recommend moving them to pots for the transition period.
Water them up until they have gone dormant. You can keep in a garage to overwinter. Check them about once a month to make sure the soil has not dried out completely.
You can add a bit of moisture but don’t overwater.
Move them back outdoors after danger of frost in the spring.
