Overharvesting Poppy Seeds

Question

My wife is concerned that I have collected too many poppy seeds [I wanted to sow them in another location]. She fears we might not get a display in our garden next year. I didn’t cut off the poppy heads, just shook them into a plastic bag – but I did get quite a lot!

You can always throw some of the harvested seeds back into the original garden to be sure it will reseed.
