Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI had a clematis die from the ground up, so the next year I planted a new one on the other side of the yard and the same thing happened. My flowers seem to struggle also, as well as my tomato plant this year. Any info is greatly appreciated!

It sounds like something is attacking the roots. There are several rodents and grubs that can do this. Check the roots for damage and inspect the area for grubs.
