Q.Outdoor Yucca Plant

Anonymous added on June 7, 2011 | Answered

My outdoor yucca plant is over 15 years old. This spring it does not look good. It’s turning brown and looks like it’s dying. We had a drought in March this year, no snow or rain [Pennsylvania]. It has no new shoots or flowers. What can I do for it?

Yucca plants rarely suffer from any problems and it seems you have had it for quite some time. It is definitely not due to overwatering, but what about too little? If it's been some time since your area has had 'natural' water then you may want to give it a drink. Also, cut away the brown foliage (carefully-they're sharp) in the event it is disease related, which will help prevent it from spreading.
