white lilacs have a much stronger aroma

Question

Our white lilacs have a much stronger aroma then our med. to dark purple. What type do we have medium to dark purple lilacs? Do you know what variety? We live in Ballston Spa, NY 12020, which is in gardening zones 4 to 5. The white, medium and dark purple are 8 to 10 feet tall. Thanks for your help ahead of time for the identifying.
