Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comOur redbud tree is 10 yrs old. It has begun to crack in the trunk from ground up. Was exposed to wind, heavy rain and possibly a tornado that hit us 2 yrs. ago. Is there anything we can do to save it? The west side does not appear to have many blooms but east side looks very good.

I believe the best approach to determine the chances of saving your tree would be to have a certified arborist examine the tree.
The damage sounds quite severe and could invite disease and insects to the wound.
