Q.Our Red Hibiscus Is Suffering In Full 100+ Sun. Would A Misting Fan Make It Too Wet?

Zone Phoenix, AZ | Anonymous added on June 13, 2023 | Answered

It’s in full 100+ degree sun for over 6 hrs/day. The layout of the area where the plant is and the way the wind goes through our back yard make it difficult to attach any type of covering that would stay up during windy periods, which this year have been almost every day! We’re thinking about putting a misting fan near the plant to cool it, but don’t want to overwater it. Would this be a good solution? How often and how long should we mist it?

Misting might lead to fungal issues. Watering it more should help; as soon as the top of the soil is dry, water it again.
