Dwarf peach tree

Our Dwarf peach tree has been badly damaged by a combination of heavy-laden branches being broken off by a huge ground hog climbing onto it. It’s remarkable that it still produces fruit and the undamaged parts, since the trunk is split and looks half hollowed out. How can we save it? or get this tree to reproduce?

If the trunk is partially hollow this can be problematic. Keep a careful eye out for insects and diseases.
Let the damage heal on it’s own.
Over time if the tree continues to grow you can prune to help balance the growth.

Fruit Trees can be started from a cutting or grown from a seed. You may want to start a new tree from either a barefoot or a 1 to 3 year old tree.
