Q.Oro Blanco Grapefruit New Growth
I had planted a new Oro Blanco grapefruit tree about 3 weeks ago. The tree is about 2.5 ft tall. When removing the tree from the container, some of the root system had unexpectedly separated from the tree. There were also some dead/curled leaves on the tree as well. I have been irrigating the tree every 2-3 days to try and establish a root system and have fertilized with a 6-6-6 organic mixture as well. It looks a little healthier. I was wondering when I can expect some new growth to begin? I am afraid the tree is still stressed, as it wasn’t in the best shape (but wasn’t terrible) when we got it. Thanks for any help and information you can give!
Loosing part of the tree roots at planting could be concerning.
This certainly can add to the tree's stress and may take even longer for the tree's roots to become established.
It sounds as if your watering schedule is appropriate to a newly planted tree.
The tree is vulnerable during the warm days of upcoming Summer, and it's first year in the ground.
