Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHello! My orchid has grown tendrils at the top of one of the shoots. I’ve attatched a photo. I’m unsure if I should try to cut the plant at the base of the root and repot a second plant? or if the air roots will take in nutrient from the air and to leave them be.
thanks kindly for any advice,
Va

Orchid air roots should usually not be removed unless they are diseased or dead:

However, excessive air root growth can be a sign that the pot is either slightly too small or that the medium needs to be replaced. Sphagnum moss or bark media need to be replaced about every 1-2 years.
