orchids

I just repotted my orchid in a new pot with orchid bark mix. As I was doing this, the tiny new leaf on the plant fell off. Should I be concerned? Also now that it is in bark it is a little tricky to tell when it needs to be watered? What should the bark feel like? The last question is that the flowers stopped flowering for a while before I was able to repot the orchid so I cut the stem down now and it was very dry. Do you think it will ever rebloom? As you can tell this is my very first orchid and I am keen to keep it thriving. Thank you for your help with my orchid!
