orchids

I’ve been gifted 3 orchids. They are lovely and blooming, but I don’t have any clue how to look after them. I know they drink more water and require humid temperature. My worry is that my house if in east-west direction so get sun all day in front and back of the house and I don’t know where to keep these plants, as I understand they don’t like direct sunlight.

Also, when can I re-pot them? They are still blooming and re-potting them by Sept end when autumn starts is it okay?? I don’t want them to die.

please help.

Regards
Bijal

if you live in a warm state
put them outside…under a tree with shaded sunlight…..orchids need the correct water and light for each different orchid…..let’s say you have a Lady Slipper….this orchid you could grow in a window….other orchids need much more sun..the ones with the large thick stems that store water…they need more water but the water needs to run off of the plant not sit in water…there are orchids that cannot be grown in the house except in a steamy bathroom under a skylight…Vanda is one of these…I hope you can keep them alive ..get a book on growing orchids…..b
