orchid plant about to rebloom

The stock containing several areas that looked like it was about to bloom was accidentally broken off the main plant. Is there any way to salvage this stem?

Depending on the type of orchid, it may be possible to root the broken stem and grow it into a new plant. Check this article on rooting cuttings. You can try the procedure with or without rooting hormone:

However, some orchids grow from rhizomes, and if the broken portion does not contain a piece of rhizome, it will not survive. In that case, focus on the main plant.
