Orchid air roots & repotting

I am a novice, but bought an orchid that was near to death about three years ago. It has thrived, but after researching today the mass of air roots it has developed I believe it needs to be repotted. When I repor it do I just leave the air roots alone?

Air roots are normal on certain orchids. Leave them alone when you repot; they are vital to plant health. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/orchids/roots-coming-from-plant.htm [1]
The American Orchid Society, aos.org, has picture ID pages. I think they call it Orchid A-Z. Knowing which orchid you have is important to proper care. The website has care sheets on each subtype of orchid.
