Orange Trees

Early this year, around January, I tasted some oranges in Italy that they refer to it as a ‘Romano.’ It is seedless and has very thin skin. All I can remember is that it is a Mediterranean species and grows well also in Sicily. Any idea where I can obtain more information about this type of orange species?

Unfortunately I am not able to find any references to a Romano orange variety or species. Here is a large list of worldwide citrus varieties that you could check, but there is no Romano listed and under “Italian” there were only listings for a citron and a pink-fleshed lemon:

Moro Tarocco is a famous Italian orange variety, and it is seedless.
