Q.One Of My 5 Kansan Cherry Trees Has Not Flowered Or Come Into Leaf, It’s Covered In Buds But Not Opened. Last Year Had Gumosis A

t base of trunk. Can I save it. It struggled last year,it flowered but the leaves were not healthy like the other trees, the branches are green inside not brown , should I leave it & see if it recovers newt spring,or should I remove it in case it affects the trees next to it.

If you really don't want to take the tree out yet, you can try and help it to slow down progression. This just requires perfect care. Otherwise, I'm seeing signs of a dying tree. I still see sap and I see lichens on the tree. They don't harm the tree directly , but it can be a sign that the tree is on its way out. If it were me- I'd probably take it out. Unless you can get it under full control, there is a chance that it could spread.
