Once oval from under watering can string of pearls return to their pea shape

My string of pearls has become oval on quite a few strands but they appear under watered and not overwatered. However I’m wondering if they will ever return to their original pea shape?

If the succulent pearls have become misshapen; they may not return to a normal appearance.
