Olive Tree + Pot Advice

Question

Hi Please can you advise on the size of the pot that we need and max height of an olive tree for a front door step. The maximum space we have is 40cm x 40cm. Also the type of olive tree best for a container that will grow more tall than wide.

I would also visit with your local nursery or where you plan to buy and ask about the best varieties for your area. Also, growing trees in pots leaves the roots more vulnerable in winter than when in the ground so keep that in mind when purchasing a plant. It needs to be more cold hardy than if it were going to be planted in the ground. The pot size will depend on the size of the tree but it shouldn't be too much larger than the root ball or you risk overwatering.
