Old grape vine pruning

We just bought a home that has a big grape vine system that is grossly over grown. The trunk is about18-24″ around but the vines have grown through small bushes and trees. Is it possible to prune the vine back to make it more manageable and produce fruit? How would I go about this process? We live in Pulaski,Va
Thanks for your help,
Ken Walker
