Q.Nuttall Oaks
I planted two nuttall oaks 4 years ago. Each year I expect them to be fabulous and every year they look terrible. The soil they are in is sandy. They are within a sprinkler system, so enough water. How can I help them /

It is supposed to tolerate sandy soil, however, nutrients may be leaching out quickly. Have you tried fertilizing? Also, give it the scratch test to see if the canopy is alive. It likes wet sites, so you could try watering more. Also, give your closest extension agent a call as he or she is probably familiar with the trees.
