Nut Tree Grafting-Chestnut

I have a chestnut tree in the ground, about 5 ft tall. I have some branches from a producing chestnut tree that I would like to graft in. Should I do it now and what method would be best? I live in southeast Texas near the gulf.

Grafting trees is rather a technical business, and differs widely from specie to specie, and situation to situation. I urge you to do some serious research on this matter if you want to be successful. You could consult with the nearest county extension service, to see what they recommend.
