Container Hibiscus Plants

Q.not flowering

Anonymous added on November 10, 2014 | Answered

Bought two of the Painted Lady hibiscus trees in July. Moved them to larger containers for the back porch. One flowers constantly and the other has no flowers. It’s very healthy looking. Have fertilizer weekly with Miracle Grow and a hibiscus fertilizer. Plants get good sunlight and water. Any clues?

It's likely the fertilizer. If fertilizer has too much nitrogen, it will encourage more foliage growth as opposed to flowering, which needs more phosphorus. Use a "bloom booster" fertilizer or add some bone meal to the soil to help add some phosphorus.
