Succulents

We had a rock garden in front of our house with succulents planted around the rocks. It was more of a hassle than a beauty, as the previous owner of the house did this, and we’re not much for gardens. So, this year we dug up the rocks to plant grass. I decided to try and put the succulents in a pot, instead of throwing them out. I figured if they did well I’d plant them in prettier pots next year, as they’re a pretty nice looking plant. Well, as you can see, one has shot up in the air. I have yet to find any place online that talks about them acting like this. Is this normal? What do I do with it?

Your hens and chicks have produced a flower.
You can trim it away when it has faded.
