non blooming Hameln Pennisetum

Question

Last spring we planted Hameln pennisetum and it grew and bloomed nicely. This year it came back but none of the plants bloomed. Not enough sun? It’s in a pretty sunny spot. Any ideas why it did not bloom this year?

Could be a few reasons, growing conditions or even to much Nitrogen in the soil.

Using a Phosphorous rich fertilizer such as Bone Meal can help boost flowering.
