No tall flower stalk on my clivia plant

My clivia plant does not bloom every year, more like every two years. This year it had quite a few flowers but no long flower stalks – all the flowers were stuck deep in the leaves. Any suggestions? It is always an indoor plant.

It may be lacking a cultural requirement, not enough light, etc. Did you give it a rest period during the winter and withhold water and fertilizer? Look over these care tips and see where it might be missing.
