Q.Christmas cactus not blooming

Zone beaver falls Pa. 15010 | robin annico added on December 19, 2016 | Answered

no signs of Christmas cactus getting ready to bloom yet. What do I do? This plant looks very healthy, nice green leaves, not droopy and very full, but I see no buds yet. No pictures to show of it.

Christmas cactuses need special treatment to induce flowering, described in these articles:

If you are giving it the proper dark periods, watering, and temperature conditions and it is still not forming buds, it might just need more time with this regimen. Or, it could be due to a nutrient imbalance: lack of phosphorus or excessive nitrogen can inhibit flowering.
