Q.Night Blooming Cereus Buds

Zone 33510 | Dcgullo added on July 9, 2024 | Answered

My night blooming cirrus had beautiful buds on it getting ready to bloom very strong very large. I went out and checked and they are all of a sudden droopy and have gotten smaller. I’m not sure what the problem is. It’s always bloom just fine. I live in Florida thought maybe it was humidity, but it’s been in the same spot as usual and I don’t know what could’ve happened to them and I don’t think they’re going to bloom.

Unfortunately, I cannot see any of the area around the plant, or the plant itself to check for diseases or signs of stress. If you are experiencing more rain than usual this year, then it could be root suffocation. I would recommend contacting your local horticultural extension service. With samples, they may be able to offer some assistance.
