Q.Newsprint Ink And Garden Vegetables

In my landscaping I used old newspapers covered with mulch for weed control. I am planting veges and flowers in my new raised beds. They are 24 inches deep and open on the bottom. I thought about using old newspapers and flattened Amazon boxes as filler at the very bottom of these raised beds. That would be covered by about 15 to 18 inches of amended soil. Would that make the veges unsafe to eat? Thanks

It is safe to use newspapers and cardboard in garden plantings. Ink dyes are 100 percent non-toxic. Avoid the glossy ad inserts because they prohibit water flow. Here is more:
