Q.New Shrubs Extreme Heat
I recently purchased some crepe myrtles. I planted them last week and they’re already showing signs of heat stress. I used root stimulator and have mulched them. The nursery I purchased them from said I should water everyday during extreme heat, 98 degrees. I water once in the morning from a garden hose about 10 seconds. I live in Collin County, Texas and the ground is clay. I need help.

I would water more deeply. 10 seconds is probably not long enough for the water to really penetrate the soil. I would water for at least 2-5 minutes.
