Q.New Climber For The Garden, Suggestions Please!
Hello, I live in Windsor in a terraced Victorian house with a smallish garden. I have a South West facing fence panel that needs to be hidden with a climber. I love roses but my husband doesn’t. (He’s the gardener, I’m not, apart from a bit of dead-heading). I love clematis but he’s not enthused. Pretty flowers are essential. We already have Virginia creeper and trumpet vine so need to avoid these two. Soil is well drained alkaline. Any suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks! Deborah

Here are some ideas for perennial and annual vines:
A lot of people like crossvine. Also, one of my favorites is the long blooming trumpet honeysuckle, lonicera sempervirens. It does get heavy if you don't prune it back a bit each winter. Here are more ideas:
