Q.Need to know details of Planting Indian Rose Wood

Zone 639007 | Anonymous added on September 14, 2020 | Answered

I would like to plant and grow Indian Rosewood in my land located in Central part of TamilNadu, India. I would like to know details like, place to collect saplings, area of land required for the tree for its entire life span and how well the roots will spread. I need to plan it well and good as i don’t want to cut it down in the middle, because we are planting it for my son’s first birthday.

This tree is known to live beyond 60 years and can grow to more than 40 feet high. They produce an invasive root system that will send up suckers far and wide, capable of doing damage to lawns and gardens. They require a very large lot and require a high level of maintenance, but are quick growers. I am not able to determine for you how much land the tree will require over time. Since this is a native of India, you may want to contact a local agricultural service to see if someone has documented that information.
