Q.need help with failing crape myrtles

five year old crapes are failing though they are budded out and starting to bloom we are loosing branches and have noted a powdery substance on some leaves what can we do?

It could be powdery mildew, a common fungal disease of crape myrtles. You can remove affected branches if there are not too many. Here is more information:
