Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHi- Have been trying to identify these plants for years. I have been in and out of websites and am a Master Gardener but these have me baffled. The first grows like a columnar arborvitae but the leaves are spiky. Mine never gets above 8 ft. The elk love them but they always bounce back. The other picture is geranium like but the flowers are in a tight bud as you can see and do not open. They slowly spread but not by seed. Any information on these plants would be greatly appreciated. I love your website and find it very informative. Pictures are included. Thank you!!

The first looks like, either, a species of Bambusa or Fargesia. The second is a type of Ranunculus.
