Q.Need help identifying pests and treatment for my plumerias

Zone Walnut, CA | Anonymous added on June 24, 2020 | Answered

Hi,

I noticed these bugs sitting on my plumerias. There seem to be two types. One type are these big brown colored bugs. I think they are the rolling bugs? The other are a white/grayish bug. My plumerias are also having white spots on the leaves. I attached pics for your reference. Can you please help me identify these issues and suggest a treatment?

Those do not seem to be major pests of plumeria, and they may have been just stopping by, not eating or anything. They aren't rollie pollie bugs. Pests of plumaria are common pests such as aphids, mealybugs, spider mites, longhorn borer, slugs and snails (see Plumaria Society below).
The white spots could be powedery mildew starting. Your plant needs more air circulation and plenty of sunshine.
You can spray the leaves with Neem oil. That will take care of sucking or chewing insects and fungal diseases like powdery mildew.
