Anonymous added on April 18, 2014 | Answered

What are the green pods on dead flower stalks? They seem to have pollen and a type of seed. This for indoor Easter plant. Saving bulbs, will they bloom outside?

It is a seed pod. You can grow new hyacinth from the seed pods, but they will take many years before they are mature enough to flower. Most people simply cut them off and allow the plant to focus on storing energy for next year's blossom. Cutting it off will make your blooms larger next year. You can cut the seed pod off, but do not cut the leaves off until they turn yellow. The leaves are how the plant builds energy for next year's bloom. You can plant them outdoors.
