To choose flowers for your garden, for any season, the first thing is to look for flowers that are hardy in your temperature zone. Then look for flowers that thrive in your type of soil, and the amount of sun/shade they will have. Then consider the moisture, and whether you will be adding supplemental water, or going with nature's offerings. Then consider if there are certain colors, shapes (tall, groundcover, lily-like, flowering bushes) or other attributes (fragrance, medicinal use, butterfly attractor, etc.) that you would like. As far as my understanding goes, in India your best source of gardening help is to be found from the botanical garden in the community nearest you. They will be able to give you much advice, and put you in touch with like-minded gardeners near you.
