Mandevilla Dying at Base

My mandevilla plant is dying at the base but is beautiful at the top. Why?

I suspect that your mandevilla is suffering from root or stem rot. This can be confirmed upon examination of the roots. For information on identifying and treating root rot, please visit the following article:
