Zucchini Is Yellowing and Dying

My zucchini plants grew large and beautiful. Large blossoms came out and zucchini started to grow. When they get about finger size, they start to yellow and die. What’s happened? Now with the high temperatures and humidity, some of the plants are wilting. . . but I am afraid to water before the sun moves off of them. Help!Thank you.

Sounds like you have a combination of problems, squash normally drop fruit as you describe from poor pollination among other things. See this article for info:

With the plants wilting, it could be squash borers. If you see what looks like sawdust at the base of the plants, it’s probably borers, you can control those with various pesticides. Do not be afraid to water them well, but do try to do it in the early morning or late afternoon and avoid overheat spraying.
