Q.oak tree damage

Zone Melbourne | Anonymous added on July 18, 2016 | Answered

My young oak tree has some bark damage caused by rabbits. About 2/3 of the circumference by 10 cm high. The trunk is about 7cm deter. Will the size of the damage stay the same size, or will the damage grow in proportion to the size of the tree? It looks a big wound now, but in 20 years would it be tiny??

Allow the air to circulate around the wound but make sure to watch for insects or disease.
The wound should heal and it will not increase in size as the tree grows.
