Wisteria Won’t Bloom Anymore

My Wisteria won’t bloom anymore. I bought my house 6 years ago and the wisteria was fabulous for 2 or 3 years before I noticed that the blooms were less and less. Last year there were absolutely no blooms. I cut off the dead stuff early spring every year. It is climbing up the north-facing porch pillar up around the rain gutter. It use to be 6 feet out on either side but now it is only 2-3 feet and not lush.

It sounds like it is lacking nutrients. I would recommend giving it some balanced fertilizer. I would also check that it is still getting enough sunlight. Sometimes, over time, surrounding plants and building can block sunlight from a plant and cause it to lose vitality. You may want to take a quick look around and see if light might be an issue.
